Tibetan Buddhism is in many aspects miles apart from the more traditional forms of Buddhism. Its followers are as diverse as atheists and Catholic bishops ( when they are not crucifying little boys).

Unlike almost any other religion, there is absolutely no dogma whatsoever. You will indeed find relevance there to the points you raised.
