The Palestinians would be safer if the Israelis had no guns, yes. It is not possible for the Palestinians to get the Israelis to disarm; but in a single democratic polity it is possible for everyone to agree for everyone to be disarmed. The two cases are thus not comparable. Being safe from being shot dead is a very important part of "overall safety", I would have thought. You haven't established that something called "overall safety" would be enhanced by massively increasingly the likelihood of being shot dead, and I find your position implausible. ![]() |
