I am a parent, if that was your question. I'm not a teacher now, but I have had jobs working with boys in the past. While I do appreciate the (relatively) friendly tone in your post, I would like to reiterate that I am not a threat to boys and never have been. I have spent untold hours working in very close contact with boys. At one job I literally showered in an open air shower directly next to naked boys who were in my AoA. It just wasn't an issue. I'm not even sure how I would implement your advice anyways. I'm a single father, how would I never be alone with my son? I do however agree with your last point: I think part of the reason people think so poorly of pedophiles is that they don't realise how many are already in their community spending time with their children without any problems. |
