That framing completely ignores reality. Claiming "love and peace" didn't exist before is a strawman—no one argues the history started yesterday, but October 7th was an unprecedented escalation of mass murder and hostage-taking that fundamentally changed the nature of the conflict.

As for Hamas "surrendering," agreeing to a political reshuffle while still holding onto weapons, ideology, and a refusal to recognize Israel's right to exist isn't peace; it's a tactical regrouping. You can't expect a sovereign nation to halt its defense while thousands of rockets have been fired at its cities and an explicit vow to repeat October 7th remains official policy.
