Tagle for Pope

Of course, I look on the matter of papal election as an outsider to the Catholic faith, but I think that Cardinal Tagle would be an excellent choice. In many parts of the Church in my country, the Filipinos are absolutely the heart and soul of the Catholic community, and they would go wild with enthusiasm if a Filipino were elected. It would be worth it just to see their reaction! In any case, Francis was a great spokesman for the poor and for the Global South, and we need another pope who can speak up for the Global South. (I am informed by a friend that Tagle's chances are deemed slight, because he shares Francis's liberal attitude to homosexuality. That is, he has taken to heart what Christ said on the occasion of the woman taken in adultery. That is, he takes the teachings of Christ seriously - which apparently some Christians think is not the done thing at all.)
