T2? Me Too!

Posted by Sharpshooter on 2026-October-1 08:12:00, Thursday

TBH I don't really know who this Chucky chappy is (Masturbater's twin brother?); but between those two and the ubiquitous Tyred Boychat feels like it has been strangled (almost?) to death from within.... I rarely check the board these days, and I imagine that is the same for many of the old timers. A shame - but, admittedly, well done to the destroyers.

Anyway!

I was just thinking about T2 - one of my favourite films ever and, back when it was released (having suddenly started to earn money independently), I actually took my dad to see it- but all he could do was pick holes in the space/time continuum as was his style. Bloody scientists. I should probably not have bothered...

However the scene that came to mind this lunchtime was the 'Uncle Ted' scene where the really little boys are running around pretend shooting at each other.

John O'Connor, played so beautifully by the darling young Kenneth Branagh (if I remember correctly), says to John Gielgud (so superbly playing the eponymous part of T2) 'We're not going to make it, huh?!'

And, in timeless style, Gielgud replies, 'Verily, it is not a situation in which the guns are an issue. You should better off look at the phones. They are the things that will destroy you'.

'Eh? I....' stutters Branagh,

'Exactly'

So prescient....
