You are absolutely right. The problem is that I don't have alternatives to take care of and enjoy their company.

Since my relationship with my nephew happened by coincidence, since he is family, I don't see any alternative way where parents will trust me to be with the children.

I don't know a way, maybe others have been more successful in navigating it. But I agree with your conclusion that it is very sad.
