I want it to be true

I genuinely want the theory to be true. It would be incredible if we really were part of something that sits at the core of human nature as the theory suggests. The problem is that wanting something to be true and the evidence actually supporting it are two different things.

The research on sexuality, sexual orientation, and evolution simply doesn't point to sexual preferences -- pedo or otherwise -- developing for the reasons the Chester theory proposes. If anything, the genetic and evolutionary evidence points in a much more random and probabilistic direction.

In other words, pedophilia, like homosexuality, is more of an effect rather than a cause.

And even if all scientific evidence would support this hypothesis, do you think in our current culture any scientist with a minimal survival instinct would openly support such?

A better question is this: if the uncle chester theory were conclusively disproven by scientific research on genetics and sexuality, would you still believe in it?
