Being too possessive will smother him. Be near him, but not hovering over him. If he spends the night with the coach or his friends, be the chauffeur who takes him there and picks him up. Absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder. Take him with his friends as much as possible--you can expand your circle of boys, and he may even start getting possessive about you. That old saw about letting go, and if he comes back, he is really yours, and if he doesn't, he never was. Boys always come back. That's what I love about them.
