Some 10 (?) years ago i was told about a new law at that time where, in Washington state (u.s.a.) one could, if authorities (I.e. social workers) decided, pre-emptively arrest, detain, and imprison one, even if NEVER CONVICTED on a sex offense, for an indeterminate time. All due to such authorities deeming them dangerous. And usually putting such 'offenders' at the secretive 'sex offender island' across the Sound from Seattle. i was surprised, then, to find out that a leading organizer, of late, in WA has never heard of this one! Anyone familiar at all with this law? Is is still even active? i also read somewhere that at least one other state is considering passing this law. i tried to find something via Findlaw.com but got nowhere. |
