"Monogamous marriage" of a sort does exist among the same-sex inclined. Agathon and Pausanias? I don't know much about today's gay community, but it used to be that a long-term gay couple were non-sexually active life-partners, like Gore Vidal and Howard Austen. They shared the pursuit of young hotties. (And if their preferred living locations, including yearly trips to Thailand, didn't make them pederasts, I don't know what would.) So I'm wondering if the extended boy-love relationship you describe remained monogamous, with no sexual activity outside the "marriage"? I would find it hard to believe. The Vidal-Austen friendship model, though, is excellent, and Gore was completely fucked after Howard died. |
