The issue of the status of counterfactuals in a deterministic universe is a large one.

Oh, it's large all right; it's a big fat brute fact called non-existence! It's game over for counterfactuals, relegated to the eternal realm of nonbeing. The subjunctive has been ruled out a priori in a fit of unfounded faith in mechanistic dogmatism. Nothing could be more straightforward -- or, rather, please excuse my conditional -- nothing is more straightforward. Everything follows.

Really, this worship of the machine as the All-True One-ness of all Being has got to go. It flies in the face of experience so perfectly that it can fascinate only an obstinate adolescent rebelliousness that BLs exist in order to deflect. Worse than that, it's what The Machine wants you to believe.

(No problem if you have other things to attend to; we all do; I can't keep up with everything either. But really, you need to stop equivocating and follow your metaphysical prejudices to their logical conclusion.)
