I'm sick of them saying "pornography" implies consent, and kids can't consent, so "child pornography" is inappropriate terminology. No it doesn't! Abusive porn is still sexual, so it's still porn. This has real "rape isn't sex" vibes.

I also don't like the term "PIM". A photo of a kid wearing a swastika shirt is also a prohibited image of a minor :). Ditto for photos of kids taken without parental permission.

But not everything prohibited under child porn laws is actually porn in the traditional sense. Like, there might be nude images that aren't really sexual, they've just been deemed sexual by society and its prudery.

Maybe it's best to call it something like "child sexual material" (CSM).

I'm thinking that since there are terms for CSM that imply it's abusive/exploitative, we should have a term for CSM with the opposite connotations, but since I'm honest, I'll only apply it to ethical CSM. Maybe something like "ethical child sexual material" (ECSM).

Perhaps we should make a point of saying "ECSM and CSAM", because really, those two are as different as night and day. Much like consensual sex and rape.
