Let's not get needlessly hyperbolic about preventionist surveys. They will take what they need and publish the results. Ultimately it comes down to: Do you want to be represented in the results, or would you rather somebody else represented you? The immediate benefits will be minimal. Their discourse, as with the previous scholarship on homosexuality, will move gradually in the right direction if a more humane approach is seen as conducive to expanding their domain of expertise.
