when it first came out. Didn't care for it, to speak truth, because the director decided to focus on a BL who tended to confirm people's notions about pedos because he comes off rather creepy onscreen. But it did show raw bigotry in action too, especially in the character that Archie Bunker type who I think was the one who ran "Straight Kids USA" or some such venemous idiocy. It figures that YouTube would suppress the film, even though it's far from being pro-NAMBLA, for even just pretending to try to be objective. It's another proof that the notion the web represents freedom is highly delusional. I'm not sure I've ever heard what exactly they did to Renato Corazza, but can well believe it was disgusting. I've seen a photo of Harry Hay carrying (or rather wearing) that sign, all by himself in front of many thousands of people (I think it was more around 1990 or '91, rather than 1985, but am not sure). What incredible courage. Now there was a genuine liberationist. There can never be too many like Harry Hay. ![]() (The subject of this painting is not me.) |
