Welfare or Warfare

No good whatever has come from this latest round of madness. Many thousands have been wounded, many of them left with lifelong injuries. And of course, America's own intelligence is indicating that the effect of the much-vaunted bunker-busting bombs was disappointing, and would only slightly delay Iran's programme, should it decide to race for the bomb - which is now more likely, as America has (once again) shown its willingness not only to back Israel, but to be a tool of Israel. Overall, this whole military escapade is a "lose" for the human race. Meanwhile, learning nothing whatever from this latest round of useless bloodletting, European leaders at the NATO summit have pledged to increase their military spending to 5 per cent of GDP, a pledge that Starmer's government had already made. 5 per cent of total GDP! Just imagine: a twentieth of all goods and services produced by our society will be devoted to killing and destruction! Meanwhile Starmer and his lackeys are telling their backbench MPs that decency for the disabled is an "unsustainable" expense.
