Suppose the transcendent deity is a sadist?

Takes delight in chicks living their lives in pain or in terminal cancer patients screaming in agony?

You've assumed that a transcendent deity would rationally conjure up a pain-free world of beauty and joy. Why?

One can imagine a transcendent deity creating worlds for sport (if I'm not mistaken, that's a belief among some Hindus).

Or may He She or It set to make a nice world and then botched the job.

There may be valid arguments for atheism but I don't see the existence of pain and suffering is one of them.

And then the atheist has to explain this:

That's an even harder challenge than the sight of decent people dying in pain.
