I recall a somewhat different story, at least the part before and during being raided by police, but it is best not repeated fully here. Dunno diddly about what happened after arrest etc, but when Aztram and his co-offender were being raided, they were desperately trying to encrypt their hard drives before the cops busted in, but it was too late.

Full disk encryption including any hidden partitions in the full disk encryption is the sort of thing that needs to be done well in advance of any trouble.. obviously the larger the hard drive the more time it takes. Multi-terabyte drives take days to get done.
