i'll go down this rabbit hole with you to some extent. You said: Turns out that trying to be positive and staying out of conflicts works much better as an individualistic short term approach, but unless someone is taking on the responsibility of taking the trash out it starts to pile up and people will only complain about the stench for so long before they just recognize that the place has become a dump and start avoiding it. -- But i see that "most people" are Captured, ideological dupes of this Settler Colonial construct. If not all (at least publicly). After all, we/they've been imbibed with "Protection via Restriction" Norms, and MUST Avoid alternaitves unless it is academically couched. (Even then, we see factions unable to even listen to the clamoring, but 'politically incorrect' oppressed. Or even, within the oppressed, factions given even less sanity.) i've written on this topic somewhat extensively over the years. Perhaps you can dig up an apt position? So What i see is that us oldtimers around here (and to which i'm an erstwhile adherent) keep coming back thanks to that part of our humanity that they just cannot seem to silence/block out: Their Intuitive DESIRE to HAVE SOME PLACE TO AT LEAST VENT!! As well as 'HOPE' that a CHAMPION has arisen!! THIS IS WHY i think "the proles" (as the more academic types call us of the 'lower' 'classes') keep following that intuitive excellence that is what is STILL HOLDING SPACE in our collective psyches DESPITE THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF PATRIARCHS TRYING TO BLOCK IT!!!! That worLd INDIGENOUS EXCELLENCE that we ALL ORIGINALLY had ("in spades"), but thanks to Settler neoColonialism, has been systematically divided up and SQUELCHED. --To serve "the Koyaanisqatsi'd 'Interests'" of The "Misery Loves Company", that is. (i think of poor, truly poor President Trump, in his apparent Belief that there is no life beyond this one, for an example. Where he's being so heavily pressured on so many sides, all to attack him; to where he COULD order nuclear annihilation. DOES ANYONE EVEN KNOW HOW CLOSE WE'VE COME TO BEING BLOWN TO SMITHERENES BY NUKES AT HOME by THE u.s. military's INCOMPETENCE AND ....???? Of course, upstarts like myself bring psychological ammo, such as in THE VERY IDEA of THE "irrational" "CHAOS" OF OUR certainly Koyaanisqatsi'd TURMOIL, as expressed in the form of this and other forums within our topic.... So to do jiujitsu with our neoCOLONIAL ASSumptions: Where this "CHAOS" BECOMEs seen/perceived AS 'DOJOS' (training centers) OF PSYCHOLOGICAL JIUJITSU honiNg and becomiNg!!!! Looks "messy" and "untidy" from the vantage Point of the "Ivory Towers" of the elites whom have been Steeped, since a Wee Age, in just another BIGOTRY about we masses being STUPID. Rather than stupidIZED! So i advocate re-conceiving the apparent and alleged!! Where "word gymnastics" and "word swashbuckling" (the latter of which i used to say about TPKA Adam Selene) become metaphorical danciNg wayz of seeiNg! As we, perhaps "kicking and screaming" ideologically, allow a kind of "peeling onion skins" effect to unveil our hearts (underneath all the layers of Learned armor) in this form of dimension (?), or something like that!
