And to be embarrassed for sharing ones authentic feelings? That's a Western-centrick anti-sex and pro-war value it seems to me.

I wasn't talking about sharing the feelings, but the identity, which is a bit different and a very Western thing to do I believe. But even regarding feelings, I think it is common among many different cultures to show some restraint in the way one displays their affection to their loved ones. Especially in highly structured societies with complex and codified social relationships, e.g. in the Muslim world or in Chinese civilization. The West, in that regard, is a bit more barbaric, which we proudly advertise as "freedom" but is often more a lack of collective experience in building harmonious relationships between individuals and groups, I believe.

Have you ever heard of a pedophile scandal in a Chinese community? Surely they have plenty of BLs among them, though. Are they more tolerant regarding that topic? Yet, as far as I know, they don't have any recognition of BL relationships, they frown upon sexual violence against children as anyone else, and favor inter-adult heterosexual relationships as normative and structural to their society. Why no witch hunt on their side, then? My guess is that they just have that kind of quiet acceptance that we should also try and promote in the West. As long as one makes the child happy, doesn't indulge in dangerous or harmful behavior with him, but is beneficial to his growth and learning, why should anyone care about anything intimate between them?

The LGBT-kind of freedom that MAPs try and get for themselves and their potential young friends is a deadlock in my opinion. BLs can't claim individual freedoms regarding their sexuality, because contrary to gay people, their sexuality directly involves families and the education of children, as long as real children are part of the equation. Gays can say "What we do is none of your business". We can't. We need to get integrated to the system and prove our value within it. Speaking up like a Karen is meaningless, even counterproductive for our struggle. We need to patiently build acceptance, winning the battle boy after boy.

The proof is in the pudding. We can't convince anyone of who we truly are but by acting as good BLs.

I don't say there isn't a distant future where words can freely be applied in public to our desires, relationships and lives. But we'll likely be all dead before that. The good news is, we don't really need it as individual BLs. The past shows enough evidence for that, I think. And collectively, we can cultivate our fragile BL culture to foster the best behaviors boylove can engender. And naturally, a better world for BLs will naturally emerge. No pro-active advocacy required.

Lots of happy boys to you,

FF
