That’s no grooming model, it’s just normal human dynamics: we notice people who notice us. A lot of that happens through tiny shifts in eye contact, facial expression, posture, and body language that we may register without conscious awareness. There’s research behind this too. In a study I just found—so that you know I didn’t pull this out of my backside—participants were shown emotional faces too quickly to consciously recognize them, yet their brains still responded differently. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9412517/ That doesn’t mean every subtle glance or gesture is being accurately interpreted outside of awareness. But it does show that conscious awareness is only part of the story, maybe even a minor part in some cases. And who’s going to get all the subtle glances and emotional cues if not the hot blond? |
