I think people are tuned into the scent of whatever they're attracted to, which explains why women talk about different scents in men (I either smell nothing or disgusting body odor). Likewise the male discussions of women's scents (I smell nothing, or perfume). But boy scent, wow! Sometimes it's super strong. Closest I've found was a combination of clothes detergent, fresh mountain air, but something else significant like soap or something I've never been able to identify. It's unique, and not on all boys but the hot ones usually. I remember at my first job around age 24 that had absolutely nothing to do with children, I suddenly smelled an amazingly pleasant, intoxicating scent that was so strong and overpowering I turned to the guy next to me and said "what's that smell? It's super strong!" He sniffed and said he didn't smell anything. I said no, smell again, it's overpowering, how can you not smell that? Again he said what the heck are you talking about, there's no smell. I was starting to think maybe I have a brain tumor when a group of cub scouts suddenly came around the corner next to us, on a tour of the facility. THAT was the smell! It's a real thing, and you have to be a card-carrying Boylover to smell it. The Scent of a Boy. Icarus |
