..dredging up the very ancient past and using it to justify modern-day crimes of any sort is just plain immoral and stupid. At some point, even the people who were definitely unmistakably wronged in the ancient past have to learn to give up on idiot ideas of reclaiming territory that may or may not have belonged to them at some point (likely before and after many others also had it) and integrate with the world as it is now. By repeatedly living in and bringing the long-gone past into the present day, none of us can ever progress into a better future.

The very idea of creating a safe haven for any group that is generally finding itself unpopular throughout history lends itself to either (1) yeah, going forth and creating that safe haven, or (2) changing behaviour to preempt being disliked in the first place. I know which strategy seems to work best, but if that group really really really wants to go forth with option 1, there would have been numerous better ways to do it without destabilizing the whole damned world and making themselves even more unpopular than ever.
