Those of us in the minority who are committed to celibacy are the exception, not the norm, and this is indicated by using mark-ED language.

It's an academically-convenient way to assert that pretty-much all boy-lovers, based on the convicted pedos they know from prison-studies, are sex-maniacs, but yeah, there might be one or two who DON'T offend, so we have to make a special label for them, but a label which AFFIRMS our conceptual model, that boy-lovers are essentially all sex-maniacs.

I prefer to re-frame the debate.
Boys are good; love is good; why is boy-love bad?
Because there's a lot of dudes out there who are SEX-MANIACS about it.
I love boys, sure; but I'm not a sex-maniac about it.
