I once sent (by real mail) to an eleven-year-old boy who had jokingly requested a check for $12,000,000 (again by real mail – we were in correspondence; those were the days), an actual signed check for $12,000,005, the extra $5 added as a birthday present. He did not attempt to cash the check, but he has told me many times since that it was one of the best gifts he's ever been given. Hee hee! |
