No, I am not interested in doing your research for you. What I should have added to my previous remarks is that Stoicism not only teaches acceptance of what befalls us without complaint, but also that we should accept the actions of others without complaint, since humans are what they are, part of the order of Nature (φύσις), and only my own actions are under my control. Actually, Stoicism and Marxism perfectly complement each other. I might also point out that your bot claimed that I was using Stoicism as "a shield for political quietism", despite the whole of part 4 of my OP being about politics. What I was claiming in part 5 is not that politics is useless, but that things have in fact got very much worse for us over the course of our lifetimes, and this is likely to remain the case for some considerable time to come, and it is for this reason that we require Stoicism. ![]() |
