Together we serve as the community memory banks. Every time you talk about the friends of yours who met their horrible fate at the hands of someone they met here at BC, the next generation has the opportunity to step back and say wow. Some of the people here really are dangerous and really can get you into trouble, and it's often the ones who work the hardest to groom the newbies who have the most destructive rumors swirling about them. Those rumors must come from somewhere, right? Some people might not realize which nicknames are run by the same people. There might be one poster who's very positive agreeable good listener with one nickname but with his other nickname he's a racist/troll/asshole who gets so pissed off over online arguments that he finds himself wanting to hurt the other person irl. With one sock puppet he's calling you a piece of shit monster, but with the other puppet he's agreeing with you, maybe by email or in a chat room. Agreeing with you just long enough to pump you for some information that his evil alter ego can use. Your presence here is a reminder that evil people exist. Your stories about Tyred the Monster are meant to scare people and to the extent that they do scare people then that's a good thing. People do need to be warned about sick twisted selfish wealthy men who befriend young boylovers posing as a kind of fatherly figure and then savagely betray them to the authorities. What kind of person would do that? No matter who people believe, we both agree that such monsters are about. Any one of these nicknames here could be out to get you. Some nice chatty friend you are starting to trust with intimate details of your life might just be that monster logged in under a different name. We both help people to never forget that.
