I always thought the draconian laws are because we have no voice as pedophiles and we don't protest that for owning a picture of a naked boy you could end up with a higher sentence than for killing a man. Easy targets, easy votes. But I was a bit unsure of the money trail. Of course, filling prisons with sexual offenders is a great money making scam, but it is done in all areas, drug offenses, writing bad checks, whatever. So again, I wasn't sure who makes money for "protecting the children". Then I saw the payoffs in the lawsuits. It is making more sense now. Another point, not monetary, is that privacy is being eaten bit by bit with the excuse of protecting children. Don't want age verification operating system? Are you against saving the children from abuse? We should check your hard drive. Don't want government to have access to your encrypted Telegram? Are you against saving the children from abuse? We should check your hard drive. Don't want your social media history to be available to any government official? Are you against saving the children from abuse? We should check your hard drive. |
