The Canadian broadcaster CBC has pulled the Kars4Kids ad off their airwaves after a court ruling in California stating that Kars4Kids engaged in false advertising banning all Kars4Kids ads in California that don't disclose that they are actually a front for an Orthodox Jewish organization called Oorah that, at best, funds summer camps and private school tuition for middle class Jewish kids in New Jersey and New York instead of local needy kids of any religious or nonreligious affiliation. Additionally, funds also go to support high school graduates spending a gap year being indoctrinated in Israel before going to college. The lawsuit in California seems a bit off. In 2021 the claimant donated a car that someone had abandoned on his property and he later found out that Kars4Kids wasn't supporting any local children actually in need. Kars4Kids claims that they offered to return the donated vehicle and that the claimant refused and then proceeded with the lawsuit. The claimant then testified that he had been "subjected" to Kars4Kids' iconic jingle "over and over" as if catchy advertising were tantamount to outright brainwashing. In their defense, Kars4Kids claims that they are entirely upfront about where the money goes because the word "Jewish" occurs one time somewhere on their homepage. And you'd be hard-pressed to find any mention of it anywhere on their Youtube page amongst their delectable selection of eye-catching preteens. One of their videos from 2024 by a so-called "non-profit expert" they brought in to promote the appearance of transparency suggests someone might misunderstand the ad to think "maybe I'll get a kid if I give them my car." I guess it couldn't hurt to try that in court. ![]() |
