Eurovision

So, the Eurovision Song Contest is happening again, second semi is on Thursday and the final on Saturday. There are no obvious MAP-related entries, as usual, but i think we should get behind Denmark, which is also very likely to win. While it's not as radical as the non-binary Nemo who won in 2024, there's still plenty for us to sympathize with here.

I get why many are lukewarm about the "mainstream" LGBT movement, but it should be obvious to most that they are increasingly under fire in Europe from all the Trump wannabees implementing increasingly restrictive laws and encouraging general intolerance. This is very clearly a pro-LGBT statement that's inspired by the old days of the movement - you know, the GOOD days, when MAPs were still somewhat thought of as part of it - and i just think that's a stand that needs to be taken right now.

And of course Denmark was one of the most LGBT-friendly countries (despite also being notoriously backward and provincial in many ways) in the world at the time. It was also one of the first countries to legalize CP, and last to criminalize it, making it a major distribution hub for the sadly very brief commercial CP industry in the 70s.

Plus it's a frigging awesome performance. And it's non-English! The link is his performance in the Danish selection, we'll see what it looks like in Eurovision tomorrow!

Other interesting entries are from Serbia, Lithuania, Greece, Czechia, UK (for once)... check them all out!
