That was kind of you. Thank you. I'm sure you're right. You seem to love research (as do I), and are good at it. I've already made good use on GLTTA of interesting things you've come up with here. Would you be willing to do occasional research for GLTTA? You wouldn't get the responses you sometimes get here, but the results of your research would certainly be read, not only when just posted, but for years to come. As a case in point, if possible I'd like to find out more about Olivier's schoolboy liaisons.Note that the quote I gave from Spoto's biography added to Olivier's own words : "These characteristics [prettiness etc.] made him a ripe target for the sexual advances of older boys, with whom (as he later freely confided to friends) he blithely cavorted throughout his school years. Such adventures, blessedly free for Larry of any subsequent neurotic guilt, were typical of the English boarding school tradition, and are not unknown elsewhere." The correspondent who alerted me to Spoto mentioned an unpublished and unexpurgated manuscript of Olivier's memoir, seeming to suggest that this included mention of his more positive experiences that he didn't see fit to publish. So, what I would love to know for GLTTA is anything more at all about these blithe cavortings? Have any of the friends in whom he "freely confided" about his older boy lovers since revealed anything of what they were told? And where is the unpublished manuscript now? ![]() www.amazon.com/dp/1481222112 |
