Aha! There's that British irony again.

I'm all for pluralistic institutions, but it's very clear that you're quite mixed up about the difference between "voluntary" and "compulsory." There was nothing "voluntary" about the stranglehold of labor cartels and there is nothing "compulsory" about the free market.
