Thanks, M, some good ideas here. Actually, I was working on an index a couple of years ago, but had to put that task on the back burner when more urgent projects got in the way. I had worked my way through re-reading most of the posts, summarising them with a view to making a selection for a "best of" book, which is just what you have suggested. Fortunately, I now have a short window of opportunity in which to resume this task, and I may be able to make good use of AI to provide the remainder of the summaries. You ask, "And how about doing book reviews, not only of newer books but the older classics?" Yes, I have already considered doing this. Only the time factor is holding me back, along with the constant onrush of news to comment on. Also, despite my background in daily newspaper journalism, speed was never my strong point. Who was the tardy writer who said he loved the sound of deadlines whooshing by? Boris Johnson? Or maybe Douglas Adams? I wish I could be that laid back about it! Looking back, I was surprised to find that when I started Heretic TOC I was putting out two blogs per DAY. Then it settled to one a week, then one a fortnight, eventually one a month, and now maybe one in six weeks. But at least they have become more substantial and extensively researched over time.
