God, he's beautiful. Tijl Bolhuis, of course. Incidentally, I have a good copy of Wild Romance with English subtitles, and it's a superb film overall. The clip (actually two clips spliced together) that you link to is the only boy moment I recall in the movie (though what a boy moment!), but it's a fine film overall. As you will know, it is a biopic about Herman Brood, who was the singer of the band Herman Brood & His Wild Romance, told from the point of view of Brood's manager, Koos van Dijk. It's interesting that van Dijk experienced considerable culture shock when the band visited the States. Van Dijk's Yank clients call the sleeve of the album Shpritsz "pornography"; and they also try to steal Brood off of van Dijk. When van Dijk, with reference to the latter, talks about the value of loyalty, the Yanks just laugh. The film thus neatly conveys both the puritanism and the amoral capitalism that van Dijk encountered in Yankland (and the two traits are surely connected). Anyway, a great film, and a great boy clip.![]() |
