Oh please. You’re not on some noble quest for enlightenment. You already decided who we are and what God (or Nature) supposedly assigned us to do, and that verdict was finalized long ago. Nothing’s getting through. Not evidence. Not arguments. Not repeated explanations. Nothing. We’ve had this exact debate before. And every single time it collapses into the same predictable routine. I say something. You ignore most of it. Then you latch onto one tiny fragment and triumphantly say something like, “Oh but look at Norman Douglas,” as if invoking a name or idea settles the entire discussion. In the very post you’re responding to, I actually laid out a few arguments; albeit not in great detail. Yet somehow you managed to skip all of that and reply to a single quotation that was clearly a summary of what I’d already said. Why bother writing paragraphs if you’re not going to read them? Or is selective reading just part of the strategy? Could I have explained myself poorly at some point? Of course. I’m not claiming infallibility. But after this many exchanges, your confusion isn’t an innocent misunderstanding. It’s a choice. At this stage it takes effort to remain this oblivious. |
