I fail to see how this is meaningfully different from rhetoric around gay identity. People who try to distinguish homosexual desire from homosexual identity/sexual activity, saying only the latter is a sin. It seems, to me at least, that the desire is a mix of inborn and environmental. Is it perhaps true that, for some, engaging in such a way can intensify the attraction? Sure. But I think the inverse is true, too. Imagine sitting at a desk with a huge, big red button that says "DO NOT PRESS". Is it more or less appealing to press the button, than a small, unremarkable brown button? Not only that, but libido doesn't magically go away. Denying it entirely is just not realistic. If you are a heterosexual man, try to only masturbate to homosexual porn, or watch nothing. Forbid yourself from thinking about heterosexual fantasies or desires, tell yourself such wants and needs are wrong, and keep at it for decades. I will wager that you won't be mentally the healthiest, and that your desire for heterosexual sex has likely only skyrocketed compared to if you had just engaged in masturbation and fantasy around the idea, without shame. |
