I think when converts receive their adult Catholic baptism, it technically forgives any sins up until then. Maybe Crucifixus could confirm. But it might explain why Bug chose that route. Having to confess all the times you masturbated as a child or all the cocks you might have sucked in your younger years, I'd imagine would be too daunting for most.
