I know being pro-c doesn't mean breaking the law. But I believe that the cons of an adult-minor relationship will often outweigh the benefits. By spreading pro-c arguments, you might give fuel to people who would break the law if they believed that it's okay to break laws if it doesn't harm anyone. And it also feels pointless, since a situation in which you are sure it isn't harmful would be impossible to create in todays society, so why bother theorising? But you do have a point, it is very important for me and for many other anti-c people to be able to hide behind the "I know how wrong it is, and that's why I would never do anything" argument. So if I talk about it to non-BLs, I distance myself as far as possible from pro-c people, because I know people would be worried if I defended pro-c people. And society gives us a lot of guilt, so sometimes parroting society's opinions about the topic does give some comfort. |
