"It simply means using those things at full throttle, seeing Beauty as itself an ideal to aspire to, not just writing about little boys making you cum." I don't think the spoken fantasies of a lonely aging BL regarding boy-cum mean very much one way or the other. Neither is there anything to be gained by purging our communities of the "sin" of objectification. No amount of saintliness will convince anyone that we don't harbor purportedly dangerous thoughts. Rather, to perv is to be human and humanization is the only way that any marginalized group has ever gotten any traction. Aristocrats may have no superpowers, but they have historically lived a life apart from the moral disapprobation of their so-called "inferiors," which is very different from simply having time for leisurely thought. To a certain extent, such refinement was part of the disguise and such highfalutin talk of "beauty" would justifiably sound euphemistically creepy to today's more reactionary ears. I don't think we gain anything from romanticizing something which has become such a punchline. ![]() |
