Whilst I agree that the UK is a monstrous institution, I don't think that rejection of community, however understandable, is a rational response. Not all people are bad, and even those who are bad are simply products of an awful system. At the moment, the far right in Britain, which is enjoying a renaissance, is dividing people up, scaremongering about migrants, Muslims and 'paedophiles' - usually blurring the boundaries between these categories. Community isn't about charity; it's about solidarity. The moment you stop caring you become the mirror image of those you oppose.
