Blair would not begin to feel an ounce of remorse in prison, but would continue to be every bit as smug and self-righteous. And who would benefit from his memoirs except himself? They would sell well even though he could be relied on to lie on every page and make him even more disgustingly rich than he already is. And I thought you were against prison in broad principle?

Surely it would be more constructive to make him do a few years community service sweeping the streets of Baghdad whilst wearing a dunce's cap with "I am evil" written in Arabic on it, and confiscate every penny he has as compensation for his victims?
