''Disappear'' vs ''To be disappeared''

Well, I hope that you don't just "disappear" one day, due to legal problems you have created for yourself. Oh, wait, maybe... Never mind.

Though some use the phrase "to be disappeared" as reference to a person's death having been caused by illicit activity of rogue agents of the law, very often BoyChatters have "ceased to post on BoyChat" (read: "disappeared") due to legal problems they have had related to being a BoyLover. There is no death threat implied in that statement.
