Absolutely superb article, exposing the sheer hypocrisy (not to mention ingrained racism) of America's faux concern for protecting children, when it is the great killer of children worldwide. Also highlights the fraud of the left in claiming to be inclusive whilst shutting down minority activism; and the role of wokeness, and the historic role of feminism, in feeding into the right's campaigns. Neither the woke centre-left nor the right can be a home for us; but the right is the more menacing, because of its belief in ever more severe punishments. It makes me somewhat grateful that I live in a country that, at least for now, does not have the death penalty - though who knows how long that will last? With Labour choosing to take away pensioners' winter fuel allowance, and impoverishing the disabled, rather than taxing the wealthy, it isn't wholly surprising that England has just had a round of local elections which has seen a massive increase in support for Farage's right-wing, anti-immigrant Reform party, as Labour's working class support melts away. P.S. The pictures accompanying the text of the article are not coming up for me for some reason, though this might be a glitch in my browser, of course. ![]() |
