It may well be the case that I missed the whole point. Perhaps I'm cloth-eared to a certain tone. It's all this training in analytic philosophy. As a matter of fact, I did read your earlier posts - it was they that piqued my interest sufficiently to read the book. You make it sound very attractive. Also, the rear cover of the book has the blurb "Return of the spirit of the Bronze Age. Purification of the world. National nudism." National nudism ? This rather intrigued me. I had visions of beautiful 14 year old boys marching naked down Piccadilly Circus shouting "Nietzsche! Nietzsche!". So you can imagine my disappointment when, having turned the last page of the book, I find that there is nothing whatever in the volume about "National nudism". Tsk! What a gyp! Actually, with regard to the more lunatic propositions within the book, although they might be a deliberate attempt to shake readers from their mental torpor, I didn't get the sense, as I was reading them, that he disbelieved what he was saying. Another explanation did occur to me - prolonged substance abuse. It does affect the brain. Of course, that's sheer speculation. On a strategic note, is it likely that he'll get bands of young males rallying to his cause by holding up career psychopaths as a model, especially as these people tend to die violently (something he extols). Yes, a lot of young males are yearning for something that affirms their masculinity. But they're not demented ! I believe that what YOU could say to them would be far more attractive. Even your version of BAP was more appealing than the real thing, in my opinion. Manstuprator was absolutely right. You should write a book. I'd certainly read it! |
