Coonigan has mentioned the excellent British TV series The Singing Detective. I thought I'd mention another great British TV series: Michael Apted's Up series of documentaries, beginning with 7-Up, in which a group of seven year olds from widely different social backgrounds were interviewed and the results transmitted in 1964. Apted went back to his subjects every seven years - the last programme was 63-Up back in 2020 - and it is absorbingly interesting watching these lives unfold before our eyes. All the programmes are available on the Internet Archive. The 7- and 14-Up programmes have some cute(ish) boys in them, depending on one's tastes; and you even get to hear Waltzing Matilda being sung in Latin. 7-Up on the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/seven-up-documentaries/1964+-+Seven+Up.mp4 [@nonymouse] [Guardster] [Proxify] [Anonymisierungsdienst] |
