It's time BoyChat gentrified its user base. Just a bit. BoyChat is well past its growth phase of the 1990s and early 2000s, and needs to sustain its appeal by being just a little more discerning about the content it deems appropriate for sharing. To avoid being run into the ground by abuse of its own outdated pre-social-media principles. I'll give a few examples. Recently, a repeat-troll blatantly encouraged other users to share their personal details on the clear-web, where they are most at risk. While this might not be a technical violation of the time-honored "rules", the fact no action is being taken on this character proves that BoyChat and its moderation actions are now on autopilot. No one is willing to do what needs to be done, to do the right thing, as the neoliberals would say before bombing the hell out of some impoverished dustbowl. In another, the well-known but tolerated troll engaged in a comedy thread, which featured multiple repetitions of the same content. It's not like it hasn't happened in the past. And 80% of the time, these meaningless contributions are just allowed to clutter the main index, and dilute more cerebral/engaging content. And the racist guy, constantly using the lax rules here to push distortions more at home on 4chan or some Reddit Pedogate hell? You are seriously being taken for a ride by that idiot?? ![]() |
